Kcell Issuer Day: how network investments ensured performance growth

Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) held the Issuer Day with Kcell JSC where the company's management presented its financial results and key achievements for 2025.
Kcell CEO and the Management Board Chairperson Askar Zhambakin noted that 2025 has been a period of significant growth and active infrastructure development for the company. And currently, the company's clients have access to approximately 3,000 5G base stations.
"We have achieved significant results, ensured growth of key indicators and implemented one of the largest 5G network construction and scaling cycles in recent years. Our subscribers have also felt this, as connection quality has significantly improved", stated Askar Zhambakin.
He emphasized that the company deliberately refrained from increasing the tariffs despite the market pressure and launched a line of fixed-price tariffs until 2027 to maintain service affordability for the public. According to him, in addition to 5G deployment, the operator is focusing on upgrading the 4G networks and providing internet coverage in rural areas as part of the "250+" program.
Kcell CFO Sabigat Rakhmetov said that 2025 was a record year in terms of investment volumes and was accompanied by growth of key financial indicators. The company's revenue reached 262 bln tenge, an 8.6% increase compared to 2024, while net profit increased by 38.9% year-on-year and reached 14.1 bln tenge. EBITDA increased by 15.7% to 106.6 bln tenge.
"2025 was truly a year of growth for us, both operationally and financially, as well as a record period in terms of investment in network development", he noted.
The company is paying attention to changes in consumer behavior. In particular, internet traffic consumption increased by almost 67%, reflecting the rapid growth of digital service consumption.
Kazbek Shaimov, the mobile operator's CCO, emphasized the transformation of the mobile internet's role, which has finally become the basic service for subscribers and the key channel for accessing the digital services.
"5G subscribers consume over 2.5 times more traffic and generate significantly more revenue than 4G users. At the same time, the growing penetration of 5G devices and network development create significant potential for further increases in traffic consumption and revenue", noted Kazbek Shaimov.
Overall, the company continues to scale its network, expand coverage and develop new areas, including IoT, Big Data and device business, which forms the foundation for further growth.
