KASE discussed key aspects of IPO

On May 12, the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) hosted a seminar "Preparing for IPO" dedicated to key aspects of preparing the companies to enter public capital markets.
The speaker was Amangeldy Musayev, Managing Partner of BeOne Kazakhstan and an expert in transaction support. The seminar addressed issues related to preparing the companies for an IPO, including corporate governance, audit, information disclosure and investor relations.
The expert noted that companies decide to go public for a variety of reasons, including raising of capital for further growth, increasing the brand awareness, strengthening the reputation and creditworthiness, expanding the investor base, and using shares as a tool for acquiring new assets and implementing a long-term development strategy.
"Preparing for an IPO is a comprehensive work including developing a capital market entry strategy, corporate governance, transparent financial reporting, legal structure, information security and effective investor relations", noted Amangeldy Musayev.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to investor expectations for new issuers. According to the expert, investors look for a sustainable business model, operational transparency, quality of corporate governance, a company's competitive advantages, growth prospects and a clear investment history.
"An IPO is only the first step in a larger story. After the offering, the company must operationally confirm all the stated plans to investors and ensure continued growth in business value", emphasized Amangeldy Musayev.
The seminar served as a platform for exchanging the practical experiences and discussing the current approaches to preparing the companies for an IPO.
