/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Pavlodar, April 5, 2006/ - Pavlodar petro-
chemical plant (PPCP, in Pavlodar oblast, North Kazakhstan) plans to
increase the volume of petroleum refining in the current year.
According to the information given to the "Interfax-Kazakhstan" agency by
Shukhrat Danbay, the deputy general director of the enterprise, in year 2006
PPCP plans to refine 4.2 m. tones of oil against 3.720 m. tones in year 2005
He emphasized that "If before we were on the second place after the
Shymkent PPCP, which refines 4 m. tones, current indicators bring the
Pavlodar petro-chemical plant on the first place".
In accordance with his words, "a big job on equipment modernization and
installation of new technologies, which today allows the enterprise to
gradually increase the volumes" was conducted on the plant.
Besides, S. Danbay continues that a strategic development plan till the year
2010, which proposes the installation of new technological lines and sets,
was accepted on PPCP, whose planned production capacity is 7.5 m. tones
of petroleum refining per year.
"Today we have already started the construction of the so-called SHP-the set
of hydrogen production. This is what will help us to save our petroleum and
diesel oil from various dirt and make the fuel appropriate for European
standards," he informes, adding that the given project, cost of which is
$40 m., was developed by Koh-Glich, an Italian company.
Putting into operation of the set of hydrogen production was planned on the
IV decade of year 2007.
"The next stage will become the start of polypropylene output department in
year 2008, and in a year - the set of isomerization," S. Danbay reported.
According to his data, the total volume of investments in the development of
new technologies on the plant for four years will be more than $150 m.
Pavlodar plant was built in 1978. The planned production capacity is 7.5 m.
tones of oil per year. The depth of raw refining is 85%.
There exist three PRs in Kazakhstan: in Shymkent (south), in Pavlodar
(north) and in Atyrau (west). Atyrau PR is the only one in the state property.
