/KASE, August 12, 2021/ – Kazakhtelecom JSC (Nur-Sultan), whose securities
are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE
with a press release dated August 11, 2021, which states the following:
Kazakhtelecom has published its consolidated financial statements for the first
half of 2021. According to the statements, the financial results of
Kazakhtelecom group continue to show stable growth. In the first 6 months,
revenue increased by 15% compared to the same period of 2020 and amounted to
KZT 282.5 billion (KZT 244.9 billion in the first half of 2020).
This result was achieved through the implementation of a strategy that focuses
on maintaining the company's leadership position in all market segments and
maximizing the use of synergy opportunities within the group, including mobile
operators Mobile Telecom-Service LLP and Kcell JSC. In the first half of 2021,
the Group's revenue increased in both fixed and mobile segments.
It is also worth noting that revenue growth in the context of strict cost
control provided a significant increase in the efficiency of the Group: EBITDA
in the first half of 2021 increased by 18% vs. the comparable period in 2020
(KZT 140.9 billion for the first half of 2021, compared to KZT 119.5 billion
for the first half of 2020). EBITDA margin reached a record high of 50%, which
is 3% more than 2020 result (47%) and significantly higher than the average
result of comparable companies (peers) for 2020.
