According to the National Bank's data the amount of net pension assets in Kazakhstan is $1,486.9m by the beginning of August of 2002

/IRBIS, August 15, 02/ - According to the data of Department on securities market regulation of the National Bank of Kazakhstan (the Department) amount of the net pension assets (PA) in the country (amount of pension assets excluding liabilities on the imposed commissions, accounts payable on pension payments) equaled by August 1, 2002 to KZT229,462.4m or $1,486.9m by the weighted average rate determined on this date. Comparable indicator by July 1, 2002 is KZT221,900.8m or $1,447.5m. In June Accumulative pension funds (APF) net assets increased by 3.4% in tenge and by 2.7% - in currency. In June of 2002 assets increased by 3.3% in tenge and by 3.2% - in currency. By the beginning of August of 2002 total sum of PA was KZT229,718.2m, KZT226,078.4m of them were invested. In all within July 2002 seven pension assets management companies (PAMC) and 15 APF were functioning in the country. The second one is still PAMC ZHETYSU (23.0%). On the third place is the Company of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan on pension assets management (22.5%). NNP Valyut-tranzit fond CJSC has the biggest assets increase in July (7.0% in tenge and 6.3% in currency expression) (excluding APF CAPITAL CJSC and OAPF OTAN CJSC whose assets being the assets of the youngest fund increase very quickly in percentage). In absolute expression APF of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan CJSC has the biggest sum of increase (its assets increased within a month by KZT2,043.0m). The second place belongs to APF UlarYmit CJSC (growth by KZT1,306.7m), then goes SAPF CJSC (increase of KZT1,039.5m).
