Kazakh companies draw contracts under import substitution program

/IRBIS, Dec.6, 00/ - The Great Silk Road World News Agency informs that
Ispat Karmet and Kazakhmys have signed a $80m worth of contracts with
domestic engineering companies for 2001 under the state import-substitution
program. Over 40% of all the purchases at domestic engineering enterprises
are attributed to these two companies. They may increase purchase volume
to $85m.
Agreements on purchase of a considerable amount of domestic engineering
production in 2001 were signed by Kazzinc ($9.2m), Donskoy GOK ($7.2m),
Kazakhstan Temir Zholy ($47.7m), and Kazakhoil ($17.7m).
