/Correction/ New edition of the list of primary dealers of the Ministry of finance of Kazakhstan and primary agents of the National Bank for SS

/IRBIS, Feb.9, 00, retransmitted due to a correction made regarding CJSC AF "HSBC Bank Kazakhstan/ - Based on the data of CJSC "Central depository of securities" (CD) and the Ministry of finance of Kazakhstan, emitters of the country's SS - Ministry of finance and the National Bank - renewed the list of their primary dealers and primary agents. As of February 1, 2000 the list of primary dealers of the Ministry of finance contained 16 companies: - OJSC "Kazkommertsbank", - OJSC "Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan", - CJSC "ABN AMRO Bank Kazakhstan", - OJSC "Temirbank", - OJSC "Bank CenterCredit", - CJSC "KZI-Bank", - OJSC "TexaKaBank", - JSC AMB, - OJSC "Bank TuranAlem", - CJSC "Citibank Kazakhstan", - OJSC "Kazpochta" (former Republican state enterprise with similar name), - OJSC "Caspian Bank", - CJSC "Eurasian bank", - CJSC "Demir Kazakhstan bank", - CJSC "Eximbank", - CJSC AF "HSBC Bank Kazakhstan" (agreement with CD concluded on Feb.8, 00). Compared to December 13, 1999 (the last publication of IRBIS on this topic) following companies appeared in the list: CJSC "Demir Kazakhstan bank", CJSC AF "HSBS Bank Kazakhstan", CJSC "Eximbank". CJSC AF "Alfa- bank" has been removed from the list. As of February 1, 2000 the list of primary agents of the National Bank contained 20 companies: - OJSC "Kazkommertsbank", - OJSC "Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan", - CJSC "ABN AMRO Bank Kazakhstan", - OJSC "Temirbank", - OJSC "Bank CenterCredit", - CJSC "KZI-Bank", - OJSC "TexaKaBank", - JSC AMB, - OJSC "Bank TuranAlem", - CJSC "Citibank Kazakhstan", - OJSC "Kazpochta", - OJSC "Caspian Bank", - CJSC "Eurasian bank", - OJSC "Businessbank", - CJSC "Demir Kazakhstan bank", - CJSC "Eximbank", - OJSC DB "Securities (Kazakhstan)", - JSCOT "Tsensnabank", - JSCOT JV "Lariba-bank", - CJSC AF "HSBC Bank Kazakhstan" (agreement with CD concluded on Feb.8, 00). Compared to December 13, 1999 following companies were entered into the list: OJSC "Businessbank", OJSC "Kazpochta", CJSC "Demir Kazakhstan bank", CJSC AF "HSBS Bank Kazakhstan", and CJSC AF "Alfa-bank" has been removed from the list. The National Bank of Kazakhstan is a financial agent of the Ministry of finance on SS market. In Kazakhstan SS of the Ministry of finance and the National Bank can be purchased on the primary market only through primary dealers and primary agents, respectively, and each of them takes depository account of their clients. Investors should work on the secondary market of the country only through primary dealers and agents, including the deals made at KASE. A legal entity, who is a member of KASE of category "K" (right to participate in SS trades), can make a deal in SS at the Exchange bypassing the primary dealer or the primary agent only if it has corresponding authorization letter from him or with his subsequent confirmation of the deal.
