National Company KazMunayGaz (Kazakhstan) completes new LPG terminal at port of Midia

/KASE, December 10, 10/ - National Company KazMunayGaz (Astana), whose bonds are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided to KASE the following press-release of December 10, 2010: quote National Company KazMunayGaz announces it has completed the construction of a new LPG terminal at the port of Midia which cost the company a total of USD3.8 m. - The terminal is part of The Rompetrol Group's strategy aimed at increasing export-import capacities of Petromidia platform. Fresh investment should help cut by over 20% costs of dispatching LPG, and reduce delivery times, eventually the number of linked operations will go down, - says A. Kairdenov, General Manager of Rompetrol Rafinare. The terminal for oil and LPG transshipment built at quay 9 of the port of Midia belongs to Rompetrol Rafinare; its maximum throughput capacity makes up 3,000 tons with a direct connection to two LPG storage tanks (ca. 3,600 cubic metres) at the oil refinery in place. The quay's modernization has boosted its transshipment capacity by 350% (from 90,000 to 310,000 tons/month) enabling comfortable mooring for vessels with dead-weights as much as 10,000 tons and tank barges (2,000 tons). - Midia Sea Terminal is to run the terminal supporting in that way The Rompetrol Group's ambitions to create an LPG distribution network capable of covering household needs as well as demands from transport in Romania and Moldova, - added A.
