/KASE, September 02, 2026/ – Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) presents a brief overview of the equity market for August 2026.

As of the end of August 2026, there were 85 share issues of 72 issuers in KASE trading lists, of which two issues of two issuers were admitted to trading in the "Unlisted securities" sector.

According to the results of August 2026, the equity market capitalization amounted to KZT50.2 trillion ($108.1 bn), which is KZT2.5 trillion, or 5.3 %, higher than the previous month.

Share trading volume in August 2026 amounted to KZT24.3 bn, an increasing of KZT4.5 bn, or 22.6 %, compared to July. Average daily trading volume was KZT1.2 bn, with an average daily number of transactions of 9,034 and an average transaction value of KZT128.2 th. Trading in shares in August took place exclusively on the secondary market.

Among the main categories of investors in the secondary market, individuals were the most active, accounting for 59.3 % of the gross stock trading turnover, followed by banks (0.0 %), broker-dealer firms (18.6 %), other institutional investors (1.2 %), and other legal entities (20.9 %). Non-residents accounted for 6.6 %.

The KASE Index value increased by 4.02 % in August and reached 8,121.46 points by the end of the month.

The volume of index share transactions in August 2026 amounted to KZT21.3 bn, higher KZT2.6 bn from July. The largest trading volume was in common shares of Halyk Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, amounting to KZT7.3 bn (34.3 % of the total index share trading volume).
