Overview of KASE equity market in May 2026
/KASE, June 3, 2026/ – Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) presents a brief overview of the equity market for May 2026.
As of the end of May 2026, shares of 88 names of 75 issuers were on the KASE trading lists, of which shares of two names of two issuers were admitted to trading in the "Unlisted securities" sector.
Based on results of May 2026, the equity market capitalization amounted to 47.4 trillion tenge ($97.7 bn), which is 0.3 trillion tenge, or 0.6 %, higher than the previous month.

Share trading volume in May 2026 amounted to 29.7 bn tenge, a decrease of 64.3 bn tenge, or 3.2 times, compared to April. The average daily trading volume was 1.7 bn tenge, the average daily number of transactions was 10,545, and the average value per transaction was 165,700 tenge. Share trading in May took place exclusively on the secondary market.
Among the main categories of investors in the secondary market, the most active were individuals, who accounted for 45.0 % of the gross turnover of stock trading, banks – for 0.5 %, broker-dealer organizations – for 14.1 %, other institutional investors – for 4.6 %, and other legal entities – for 35.8 %. The share of non-residents was 6.0 %.
The KASE Index value decreased by 0.06 % in May and amounted to 7,838.16 points by the end of the month.
The volume of index share transactions in May 2026 amounted to 28.6 bn tenge, 63.3 bn tenge lower than in April. The largest trading volume was in common shares of National Company "KazMunayGas" JSC, amounting to 11.5 bn tenge (40.2 % of the total index share trading volume).
