STOCK MARKET
The value of the KASE Index increased by 0.30% to 7,782.24 points on Friday. The largest number of transactions among the shares of the representative list were made with shares of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC – 2,388. The largest trading volume was recorded in shares of National Company KazMunayGas JSC – 460.9 million tenge. Shares of four issuers demonstrated growth – National Company KazMunayGas JSC (+4.37%), Kcell JSC (+0.25%), Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (+0.24%) and KazTransOil JSC (+0.23%).
MONEY MARKET
The yield on repo transactions with government securities (GS) for one day (TONIA) decreased by 9 b.p. and amounted to 17.41% per annum following the trading day results. The rate of borrowing tenge secured by US dollars for one day (SWAP-1D (USD)) decreased by 11 b.p. and amounted to 13.93% per annum. The total volume of trading in one-day money market instruments amounted to 849.864 billion tenge.
CURRENCY MARKET
As of 17:00, the average weighted exchange rate of the US dollar against the tenge with a settlement date of “tomorrow” based on the results of trading on Friday amounted to 490.69 tenge. The national currency strengthened by 0.62 tenge. The trading volume totaled 354.811 million US dollars. A total of 1,276 transactions were concluded. The minimum price was 488.55 tenge per US dollar, the maximum — 492.45 tenge, and the price of the last transaction — 489.80 tenge.
The price of May Brent oil futures on the London ICE Futures exchange decreased by 2.34% by 18:00 Almaty time on Friday and amounted to 98.06 US dollars per barrel.
