The World bank will give Kazakhstan's electricity networks $100 m. for PL North-South

/REUTERS, Almaty, October, 05/ - The World bank's branch - International bank for reconstruction and development - will give a $100 m. loan to KEGOC for building the second power line North-South, resolution of Kazakhstan's government says. Text of the resolution dated September 19 was published in "Kazakhstanskaya pravda" newspaper on Thursday. "Give International bank for reconstruction and development the state guarantee...as the security of fulfillment of obligations of KEGOC JSC on the borrowed loan in the amount of USD100,000,000, within the limit of giving the state guarantee, confirmed by the law "About republican budget for year 2005", - the resolution says. IBRD has been determined as the supplier of financial services for this project's financing. KEGOC has also been given permission for borrowing funds for working out TEG and designing-estimate documents with total planned cost of $326 m. KEGOC already borrowed a $81.2 m. loan in spring of 2004 from EBRD, Kazakhstan State development bank and foreign banks syndicate for realization of the first stage of this project. Total cost of North-South line building is estimated at about $300 m., completion of the building is planned for year 2008. [2005-10-06]
