SSPU JSC (Kazakhstan) reported on activities in 5 months of 2005

/IRBIS, Natalya Kouznetsova, June 13, 05/ - Sokolovskoe -Sarbayskoe
production unit" (SSPU JSC, Roudnyi, Kostanai oblast.) with shares included in
official securities list of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) under "A" category
spread press release, where results of the company for the first five months of
2005 are given.
Press release informs, that from May 9, 2005 SSPU JSC stopped shipment of
marketable commodity production to Magnitogorsk metallurgical plant JSC
(Russia), as Russian enterprise insists on decrease of prices by 50%. At
present SSPU JSC does not plan to decrease prices for marketable commodity
production and continues negotiations about further collaboration with Russian
plant.
Consumers of SSPU JSC's production are Tchelyabinck metallurgical plant OJSC
(Russia), Mittal Steel Temirtau JSC (Kazakhstan), Chinese metallurgical
enterprises. Negotiations are held about increase of production for Chinese
enterprises by 200 th. tones.
The company informs that results of SSPU JSC for 5 months certifies about
growth of volume of production comparing with similar period of last year. So,
from the beginning of the year extraction of crude ore equaled to 15,121 m.
tons, what by 6.3% more than comparing with the similar period of 2004 (14,231
m. tons).
In January - May miners refined crude ore for a total of 15,136 m. tons, last
year for the same period the company refined 14,237 m. tones of crude ore.
Beginning from the year-start the Unit produced 6.317 m tons of marketable ore,
the last year's same period result was 6,134 m. tons.
The company informs in the named period marketable ore available fore sale
increased. During 5 months the Company produced 6,104 m. tons of ore pellets
and marketable concentrates, up by 3.3% to corresponding period of the last
year.
SSPU JSC continues to execute investment program, which this year will equal to
USD100 m. Main directions of the company are support and development of metal
mining base, capital construction, modernization of production, purchase of
modern equipment and techniques.
