ANALYSIS: In March of 2005 volume of GS purchase and sale deals at KASE increased 20.3% to KZT53.1 bn

/IRBIS, Ranida Gabdeyeva, April 4, 05/ - In March of 2005 at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) 275 deals were made in government securities (GS) purchase and sale sector for a total of KZT53,133.5 m. (equivalent of $404.5 m.) or 7.5% of total exchange's turnover of the month (in February - 5.8%). In comparison with February of 2005 the sector's turnover has increased 20.3% in tenge and 19.2% in dollar terms. Relative to March of 2004 the turnover has risen by 7.9% in tenge and 14.1% in dollar terms. At primary market auction on MEKKAM-12 of 83th issue was held (KZK1KM120836, MKM012_0083, KZT100, KZT16,506.1 m; March 30, 05 - March 30, 06). Demand for those securities reached KZT26,473.7 m, having exceeded announced volume (KZT16.0 bn) by 165.5%. Subject of the auction was nominal value of bonds expressed in percents. In sector of secondary market transactions 219 deals were made for a total of KZT37,133.5 m. Relative to February 2005 the sector's turnover increased 46.25% in tenge and 45.46% in dollar terms.
