Head of Eurasian industrial association informed country's head about its activity in the republic

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, February 22, 05/ - Nursultan Nazarbayev Kazakhstan president on Tuesday in Astana received Alexandr Mashkevich the head of Eurasian industrial association (EIA), press-service of the country's head says. During the meeting EIA's head informed the president about results of 10- year work of the association in Kazakhstan, the message says. "As Mashkevich says, within that period companies, which are in the staff of EIA, invested over $2 bn. into Kazakhstan economics. Besides, $550 m. of debts had been repaid by the moment of privatization.", - the message says. "Today stake of EIA, which works in mineral resource and mining- metallurgical industries, is 5% of total volume of country's GDP", - the message says. "EIA's policy will entirely follow the major principles expressed in the recent appeal of country's head to Kazakhstan people", - the message quotes Mashkevich's words. The great attention will be paid on solution of social matters and on professional-technical education of employees in EIA's companies, said Mashkevich. Last year EIA invested KZT31 bn. (current 130.09/$1) into social sphere, employees' wages in EIA's companies grew within the last three years by 36%, the message says with reference to data of EIA's head. Head of the board of directors of Aluminium of Kazakhstan Patokh Shodiyev and president of transnational corporation Kazchrome Alijan Ibragimov also took part in the meeting with the president. Besides these two companies, the staff of EIA comprises Sokolovsko- Sarbayskoye production unit JSC, Euroasian energy corporation JSC, coal mine Shubarkol Komir JSC. [2005-02-23]
