In 2004 volume of foreign exchange transactions at KASE reached $9,449.5 m. and grew in terms of dollar by 47.3%
/IRBIS, Sergey Yakovlev, January 5, 05/ - In 2004 total volume of foreign exchange transactions concluded at the Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) reached the equivalent of $9,449.5 m. and has increased by $3,036.0 m. or by 47.3% in terms of dollar relative to similar period of last year.
In tenge equivalent the turnover has increased from 954.0 bn. in 2003 to 1,270.4 bn. or by 33.2% in 2004.

Weighted average market rate of tenge to U.S. dollar calculated by IRBIS over all deals of the main (morning) session of KASE for the period from January 1, 04 till December 31, 04, equaled to KZT134.19 per dollar, over all stock exchange's deals - KZT134.46 per dollar.
Judging on changing of weighted average exchange's rate, tenge has strengthened against dollar in nominal expression by 9.30%. Corresponding indicator of 2003 was 8.03%.
