Kazakh supplier of Magnitogorsk increased ore output by 6.4% in Jan-Sept

Sokolovsk-Sarbayev ore mining and processing company (SSGPO) increased iron ore output 6.4% y/y up to 26.258 million tons in Jan-Sept of this year. SSGPO, a major supplier of Russian Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant, currently examines possibility of construction of metallized briquettes plant in Kazakhstan. For the reported period SSGPO increased processing of raw ore by 6.3% up to 26.263 m tons. Commodity ore production increased to 11.35 m tons from 10.8 m tons a year earlier. SSGPO also intends to increase ore output up to 37.7 million tons from previously planned 35.5 million. In 2003 the company produced 33.6 million tons of ore. In Jan-Sept the company shipped 10.837 m tons of commodity ore to Russia, China and domestic consumers (4.6% growth).
