Bank TuranAlem (Kazakhstan) intends to stake in Ukrainian banks

/IRBIS, June 29, 04/ - According to REUTERS, Bank TuranAlem, the second largest bank in Kazakhstan holds negotiation with number of Ukrainian banks to enter capital through purchase of stakes Svetlana Berdaliyeva, head of TuranAlem Kiev office reported. The bank holds talks with 8-10 mid- and large-scale banks. Size of investments will eventually depend on parameters of potential bank. The purchase is planned to taker place by the end of 2004. Bank TuranAlem that owns stake in Slavinvestbank has recently announced expansion plans all over the Central Asia and CIS. The chairman, Erzhan Tatishev holds 20.6% of shares, other top managers 0.2%, German DEG, Holland FMO and IFC from WB group in total hold 11.15%. [2004-06-29]
