Overview of KASE's equity market in October 2022

overview of the equity market in October 2022.

KASE Index value increased by 1.6 in October % amounting to 3,132.87 points
and by the end of the month. This year, part of the index companies postponed
the dividend payouts to autumn, so in October Kazakhtelecom JSC, Halyk
Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, KEGOC JSC, Kaspi.kz JSC. Also in the
reporting month, index companies opened the third quarter reporting season.
The volume of transactions with index shares in October 2022 amounted to
6.3 billion tenge, which is by 5.5 billion tenge below September 2022. The
largest trading volume fell on common shares of Kcell JSC – 2.6 billion tenge
(41.7 % of the total volume of trading in index shares) and common shares of
Bank CenterCredit JSC – KZT2.1 bn (31.0 % of the total volume of trading in
index shares).

At the end of the month, common shares of three issuers – Kaspi.kz JSC (+8.9 %),
Kazakhtelecom JSC (+7.6 %) and Bank CenterCredit JSC (+5.3 %) – closed in the
green zone. GDRs for ordinary shares of National Atomic Company "Kazatomprom" JSC
and Halyk Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC also closed the month in the green zone
on the London Stock Exchange (+4.8 % and +1.0 %, respectively), while common
shares of these companies decreased on KASE.
The price of ordinary shares and GDRs for shares of Kaspi.kz JSC recovered to
the levels of May 2022, adding 8.9 % and 9.8 % over the month, respectively.
On October 24, the Group published consolidated financial statements for nine
months of 2022, according to which revenue for this period increased by 40 %
to 910 billion tenge, net profit – by 36 % to 422 billion tenge. In addition,
the Board of Directors proposed to consider the issue of paying dividends in
the amount of 600 tenge per ordinary share. We remind you that following the
results of the second quarter, shareholders received dividends in the amount of
500 tenge per GDR. The general meeting of shareholders is scheduled for
November 23. The Board of Directors also announced a third share buyback
program for a maximum of US$100 million. Under the first two programs, 1,776
GDRs were purchased from the market for $51 million and $45 million,
respectively. The total amount of GDRs in circulation is about 190 million, so
less than 1 % of securities were purchased under the first two programs and
there was practically no impact from these programs on the price.
In the second place, in terms of growth rates, are shares of Kazakhtelecom
JSC, which added 7.6 % in price. Shareholders of Kazakhtelecom JSC
approved the payment of dividends for 2021 in the amount of 3,509.39 tenge
per share from 7 November 2022. Also, on October 10, Kazakhtelecom JSC
announced a partial early redemption of bonds placed on AIX in the amount of
34 billion tenge.
Common shares of Bank CenterCredit JSC close the top three in the current
month with an increase of 5.3 %. The Bank's shares closed in the green zone
for the fifth month in a row.
The price of ordinary shares of National Atomic Company "Kazatomprom" JSC
decreased by 4.1 %, the price of the GDRs for shares decreased by 8.8 %. In
October, the company reported an increase in sales for nine months of this year
by 59 % to 13.3 thousand tons and an average selling price of 41 % to 42.6
dollars per pound. In the global uranium market, futures for a pound of uranium
at the end of October exceeded $53, which is the highest figure in the last two
months. The bullish momentum saw Sprott Uranium Physical Trust, being often
a catalyst for the uranium market, re-enter the market after a volatility period
and buy 100,000 pounds of uranium U3O8.
Ordinary shares and GDRs on shares of Halyk Savings Bank of Kazakhstan
JSC finished the month differently. While common shares were down 3.2 %, the
bank's GDRs were up 2.3 % and traded above the psychological mark of $10
per GDR all month. On October 21, the meeting of the Bank's shareholders
decided to pay dividends in the amount of 12.71 tenge per share, which is
equivalent to a dividend yield of 10.8 %. The total amount of dividends for 2021
amounted to 138.6 billion tenge, which is 30 % less than last year.
Ordinary shares of KEGOC JSC completed the month without significant movement.
Shareholders of the company approved the payment of dividends for the first half
of 2022 in the amount of 65.44 tenge per share from December 20, 2022.
In October, the company also repaid a loan from the International Bank for
Reconstruction and Development in the amount of USD 46.3 million ahead of schedule.

Based on October 2022 figures, the capitalization of the equity market
amounted to 22.3 trillion tenge (47.8 billion USD), which is by 483.0 billion
tenge, or 2.1 %, lower than the same indicator of the previous month.
As of the end of August, shares of 117 titles of 103 issuers were listed on
KASE, of which shares of four titles of four issuers were admitted to
circulation in the "Unlisted securities" sector. In the month under review,
following requests of the issuers, shares of four titles were excluded from
KASE official list: common shares of Altyntau Kokshetau JSC, Insurance company
London- Almaty JSC, as well as common and preferred shares of Zhairem Mining and
Processing Plant JSC.
