"Caspiy" Commodity Exchange assumed voluntary obligations to achieve carbon neutrality of the company's activities

/KASE, August 19, 2022/ – "Caspiy" Commodity Exchange JSC (Nur-Sultan), whose shares are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following communique: quote "Caspiy" Commodity Exchange JSC, not being, in accordance with the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a mandatory participant in the system of regulation, reporting and monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions, has assumed voluntary obligations to achieve carbon neutrality of the company's activities. Thus, we have prepared a report on the carbon footprint of the company and it includes greenhouse gas emissions for 2021. The main purpose of this report is to disclose information on greenhouse gas emissions of Scope 1-2-3, determine the company's goals to reduce its carbon footprint, identify measures to achieve carbon goals. Carbon footprint calculations are based on a thorough analysis of internal and external documentation and activity data, as well as data exchange with external data providers. The report was prepared in accordance with the recommendations of ISO 14064-1:2019 and the international greenhouse gas protocol (GHG Protocol) for accounting for greenhouse gas emissions Scope 1, 2 and 3. Based on the results of the calculations, "Caspiy" Commodity Exchange JSC decided to fully cover the emissions of 2021 through the acquisition of carbon offset units from the VERRA standard project registered in the register. After the acquisition of carbon units, they were written off to cover our emissions.
