Oil- and gas-pipelines of Kazakhstan are in their normal conditions - EC representative
16.09.03 00:00
/Kazakhstan today, September 16, 03/ - Oil- and gas-pipelines of
KazTransOil CJSC and KazTransGas CJSC are in their normal conditions
currently. Jean-Luis Terlie, the representative of European Commission in
the RK, the director of "Support of oil and gas extraction and transportation
sector in the RK" project, informed about this fact today, on September 16.
According to Mr. Terlie, during the realization of "Support of oil and gas
extraction and transportation sector in the RK" project several oil- and gas-
pipelines of the two national transportation systems were inspected. "We
concluded that KazTransOil CJSC and KazTransGas CJSC build their works
in the good direction and make attempts to correct their mistakes, made
earlier" - J. Terlie said.
In project's director opinion, "the main problem of pipelines across the world
is a metal corrosion. We suggested a number of recommendations
concerning introduction of modern methods of pipeline system monitoring.
On September 18 these recommendations will be sent to national
companies of Kazakhstan".
However, as Mr. Terlie informed, "during the process of analyzing conditions
of the pipeline system of Kazakhstan, we saw how KazTransOil CJSC and
KazTransGas CJSC walk far away from meeting international norms of
labor, health and environment protection.
