/KASE, September 15, 2020/ – Samruk-Energy (Nur-Sultan), whose bonds are
officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with
the following statement of September 15, 2020:

Almaty CHPP-2, the main source of heat and electricity in the southern
metropolis, will be fully converted to gas. Samruk-Energy JSC, which is
currently working to minimize the impact on the environment, announced this.
In fact, an important step is being taken in improving the ecology of Almaty,
since there are many facilities in the city whose activities negatively affect
the quality of atmospheric air (motor vehicles, public transport and the
private sector with harmful emissions, other heat and power generating
enterprises using coal). In addition, the city will have to resolve issues
related to landscaping, construction taking into account the wind regime, fuel
quality, etc.).
Many options for the modernization of CHPP-2 were considered. The work was
carried following an order from "AlES" JSC by the engineering institute
"KazNIPIenergoprom", which has a 60-year history of power construction and
carries out the whole range of pre-design and design work in the field of heat
and power generation.
