KASE determined leading operators of the exchange market of foreign currency for February and first two months of this year

/IRBIS, March 5, 03/ - Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) determined the
list of second tier banks - leading operators in stock market of foreign
currency in Kazakhstan for February of 2003.
Place of bank in the list is set in accordance with share of deals made by him
in combined gross-turnover of trades (sum of purchased and sold
currency) on USD, Euro and Russian rouble in trading system of KASE. At
this, position of each bank was expressed in total dollar equivalent at the
current rate of exchange of each made deal.
Totally in making deals 26 second tier banks were participating at KASE in
February. Below the list of ten most active operators in descending order of
of their stake in total volume of deals is provided.

OJSC (Almaty) and AMB OJSC (Almaty).
In the total turnover of exchange's money-market the share of US dollar
equaled in February of the current year to 99.83%.
In January-February of 2003 27 second tier banks took part in trades in
foreign currencies at KASE, the following of them have beeen recognized as
leading operators: Bank TuranAlem OJSC (11.0% of trades' gross turnover);
DB ABN AMRO Bank Kazakhstan CJSC (10.4%); Alliance Bank OJSC
(9.5%); Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan OJSC (8.7%); KAZKOMMERTSBANK
OJSC (6.4%).
