In 2002 volume of investments for depth usage in Central Kazakhstan exceeded $543 m

/Kazakhstan today, February 20, 03/ - Within the past year volume of investments for depth usage in Central Kazakhstan equaled to $543.7 m. About 80% of them were invested into mineral-raw stuff complex of Karaganda oblast, 90% of investments are the stake of foreign investors. About it KZ-today was informed in the territorial department of "Tsentrkaznedra". According to the department's data, extraction volumes have significantly increased almost on all types of treasures of the soil. At the same time, despite growth of prices at the world market of gold, in Central Kazakhstan there is falling of gold mining. As was explained by chief of TD "Tsentrkaznedra" Berikbol Khamzin, the falling had been caused mainly by falling of production in mining-ore company "ABS-Balkhash", which had lack of circulating assets, and also by the fact that company Kazakhaltyn had not come to the project capacity. Further perspectives on gold mining are concerned by the central region with promising gold and copper field Nurkazgan near Temirtau. This year Corporation Kazakhmys will already get down to opening of complex reserves. In specialists' opinion, Nurkazgan is the only large-scale field, which was opened since Kazakhstan independence.
