Volume of investments in Kazakhstan in January of 2003/2002 rose by 10.8%
/REUTERS, Almaty, February 17, 03/ - Volume of investments into the main capital Kazakhstan in January of 2003 increased by 10.8% in comparison with January of last year and equaled to KZT41.6 bn ($270 m), informed Kazakhstan statistics agency.
Growth of investments within this period was observed in 11 regions of Kazakhstan.
Decrease of investments volumes has occurred in North-Kazakhstan, Akmola, Mangistau, Pavlodar oblasts and Alma-Ata city.
In January of 2003 there were spent KZT29 bn or 71% of total investments volume for industry development.
Priority branches are still production of oil and natural gas (61%), and also transport and communication (13%).
