In January of 2003 transactions volume on GS at KASE in all sectors of the market totaled KZT267.8 bn and decreased by 32.1% relative to December

/IRBIS, February 3, 03/ - In January of year 2003, deals volume on GS at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) in all sectors of the market accounted for 2,058 deals for the total amount of KZT267,782.6 m ($1,723.1 m). Last month number of deal, which was to 2,230, reached KZT394,489.2 m ($2,534.7 m). For the month exchange turnover of GS decreased by 32.12% in tenge and 32.02% in dollars. Relative to January of 2002 the exchange's turnover rose by 30.9% (by KZT63.1 m). In the sale-purchase sector 228 deals were made for total amount of KZT33,928.6 m. In comparison with previous month the turnover in the sector decreased by 49.6%. The share of automatic repo sector in January was 83.4% of total volume of made repo deals, in December - 63.4%. In January the share of the Exchange's turnover in total volume of the deals made on the Kazakhstan secondary market of GS based on comparable transactions (including repo deals) equaled 96.8%, in December - 82.1%.
