In January of 2002 transactions volume on GS at KASE in all sectors of the market totaled KZT204.6bn and increased by 17.8% relative to December 2001
/IRBIS, Feb 01, 02/ - In January of year 2002, deals volume on GS at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) in all sectors of the market accounted for 1,325 deals for the total amount of KZT204,641.0m ($1,349.5m). In last month at 1,203 deals the volume reached KZT173,710.7m ($1,156.1). For the month exchange turnover of GS increased by 17.81%. Relative to January 2001 the exchange turnover rose 2.4 times (by KZT122,576.6bn).
In the sale-purchase sector 319 deals were made for total amount of KZT23,860.9m. In comparison with previous month a turnover in the sector increased by 9.13%.

In repo sector of KASE 1,006 deals were registered for a total of KZT180,780.1m in January. Corresponding figure for the previous month - 907 deals for KZT150,845.6m. A share of automatic repo sector in January was 68.4% of total volume of made repo deals.
In January the share of the Exchange's turnover in total volume of the deals made on the Kazakhstan secondary market of GS based on comparable operations (including euronotes and repo deals) equaled 93.0% (in December 2001 it didn't exceed 86.0%).
