Main indicators of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy RSE production activity in year 2001

/IRBIS, Jan 07, 02/- Department on public relations of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy RSE (Astana) bonds of which are currently traded at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) under the highest category of listing distributed a press release about main indicators of production activity of the enterprise in year 2001. According to company's information, passenger turnover of railroad industry of Kazakhstan for the last year reached 10,404m passenger-kilometers that account 101.9% relative to similar parameter of year 2000. During reporting period 16,122 th. passengers were transported (101.5% relative to year 2000). Tariff cargo turnover reached 135,660m tons-kilometers (108.5%). Volume of cargo load in 2001 totaled almost 165.1m tons (105.6%). Transported coal- more than 77.9m tons (105.1%), oil and oil products - 19.8m tons (111.8%), ferrous metals - 10.2m tons (100.5%), chemicals and fertilizers - more than 1.3m tons (169.4%), construction cargo - 9.7m tons (128.8%), cement - 1.4m tons (147.3%). Volume of ferrous metals remained at the level of 2000 - more than 4.7m tons. At the same time, economic processes and market structure have led to a decrease of cargo applies volume for some types of cargo: ferrous - 18.5m tons (96.6% relative to corresponding indicator of 2000), forest cargos - 655 th. tons (92.3%), grain - more than 5.3m tons (72.7%). Transit cargo turnover of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy RSE in 2001 totaled 8,628m tons-kilometers (100.2%).
