KazTransOil CJSC held training on liquidation of fictitious emergency at pipelines

/IRBIS, Sept 25, 01/ - On September 24-25, 2001, on Prorva-Kulsary oil
pipeline of Kulsary oil pipeline division of Western branch of KazTransOil
CJSC a wide-scale training was held on liquidation of fictitious emergency at
pipelines with emergency breakout of 20 tons of oil, is said in the company's
press-release.
The training was held to master and improve new technologies, new
technical equipment to be used in emergencies at pipelines. The observers
were the representatives of the branches of the company - heads and
specialists of emergency departments, maintenance and health safety
divisions at pipelines, as well as specialist from the head office.
As PR department informed, training demonstrated effective work of
warning, personnel collection and transportation services to the emergency
sites and deployment of technical equipment. During the training some
techniques on eliminating malfunctioning and interaction of repair groups of
Kulsary oil pipeline department with regional emergency bodies, environment
protection bodies, sanitary bodies were tested. Fictitious spill of oil was
collected and removed from the soil on a highly professional manner.
Besides, special attention was paid on detailed handling of the special
equipment by the personnel in emergency situations.
It is also said that the training was held in compliance with "Liquidation of
possible emergencies on oil pipelines of KazTransOil CJSC plan". Similar
training were held at oil pipelines over Irtysh and Ural rivers in Pavlodar and
Atyrau (Eastern and Western branches) last year.
