ADB plans to approve new medium term co operation strategy regarding Kazakhstan

/IRBIS, Sept 6, 01/ - Great silk road news agency informs that next year, the Asian Development Bank is to approve a new medium-term strategy for co- operation with Kazakhstan. This program will be launched this year in co- operation with the government of Kazakhstan, said the head of ADB delegates to Kazakhstan. The delegates will study the economic situation in the country and implementation of the projects financed by ADB. For the time being, the average annual amount of loans provided by ADB for Kazakhstan makes up around $120m per year. As of the end of June 2001, ADB provided a total of $525m in loans to Kazakhstan, $353m of them have been drawn down. Kazakhstan has been a member of ADB since 1994. Over that period, ADB provided 13 loans for nine projects in Kazakhstan.
