Aliuminii Kazakhstana wants to increase gallium production by 25% by 2002

/IRBIS, March 19, 01/ - REUTERS informs that Aliuminii Kazakhstana OJSC plans to increase gallium production by 25% to the year 2002, current production is at 20 tons. It is said that production increase is to be achieved through reconstruction of production and introduction of new technologies. The gallium consumers are Japan, USA and Europe, where it is used in semiconductor production. Enterprises of Aliuminii Kazakhstana OJSC are said to be located in the North of the country and specialize in limestone production. They are in the group of companies controlled by the Eurasian bank.
