Kazakhstan producers to provide oil-companies with $900 mln worth of goods and services

/IRBIS, Feb 8, 01/ - According to GSRW, Kazakhstan producers can provide goods and services to the amount of over $900 mln to foreign companies operating mainly in the oil sector of Kazakhstan within the framework of import-substitution program. Mr. Murtazayev, the First Vice-Minister of Economy and Trade, said at a meeting devoted to the import-substitution program in Almaty that the intended import-substitution volume this year would comprise the sum not less than $300 mln. Kazakhoil and Kaztransoil signed agreements with local producers for this period on supply of equipment to the amount of $41 mln and $29 mln, correspondingly. Foreign investors signed agreements with Kazakhstan companies on supply of equipment and spare parts for a total of $177 mln in 2000, however the actual figure amounted to $135 mln.
