Almaty akimat (Kazakhstan) is allowed to purchase power plant

/IRBIS, Jan 15, 01/ - The Great Silk Road World News Agency informs, that
the Kazakhstani government resolved to allow the Almaty akimat to purchase
the Almaty Power Consolidated power utility and a stake in the Intergas
Central Asia gas distributor company for $50 mln. The required amount
should be paid by late 2003. APC owns two heat power plants in Almaty,
including hydroelectric plant in Kapchagai, heating networks and the electric
grid. The estimated value of these facilities comes to around KZT20 bln, or
$140 mln.
