In December 2000 volume of deals in GB at the KASE totalled KZT70,441.0 mln, in Year 2000 - KZT446.9 bln
/IRBIS, Jan.03, 01/ - In December of year 2000, 748 deals for a total of KZT70,441.0 mln ($486.4 mln at the current exchange rate of KASE) were made in all sectors of the government bonds (GB) market of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange. In previous month total volume of 705 deals totalled KZT41,512.7 mln ($228.0 mln).
In purchase and sale sector 400 deals were made for a total of KZT28,900.8 mln. In comparison with previous month the sector's turnover grew by 19.1%. Statistical indicators and turnover structure are given in the table (in parentheses - comparable figures of previous month).

In repo sector of KASE 348 deals were registered for a total of KZT41,540.3 mln in December. Corresponding figure for the previous month - 337 deals for KZT24,272.7 mln.
In December the share of the Exchange's turnover in total volume of the deals made on the Kazakhstan secondary market of GB based on comparable operations (including euronotes and repo deals) equalled 79.1% (in November - 66.3%).
