Kazakhmys copper production in 2001 - 412-415 th tons

/IRBIS, Dec.8, 00/ - REUTERS informs, that Kazakhmys, copper production corporation, plans to produce 412-415 th tons of copper in the next year from figure of 398.0 th tons in this year. The company also intends to launch new zinc production facility in next two years. The capacity of production would equal to 100,000 tons. The total cost of the pant is $70 mln. In this year, company invested $89 mln. Next year investments will amount to $102.0 mln. Primary activities of the company: extraction and processing of mineral resources, production of cathode copper; production, transmission and distribution of electrical and thermal power; scientific-research, design and development works; industrial and civil construction; cargo and passenger transportation.
