/IRBIS, Nov 02, 00/ - REUTERS informs that Kazakhstan national atomic
company Kazatomprom issued bills of exchange in the form of promissory
notes.
By results of financial and economic activity for 1998-2000 the National Bank
of Kazakhstan (NBK) included Kazatomporm in the list of first grade issuers.
Notes were issued at KZT100,000; 500,000 and 2 mln of face value. The
maturity term is 3 and 6 months.
The company has already concluded several contracts with some major
banks (TuranAlem and Citibank) over notes discounting. They will be
discounted at fixed rates that includes discount rate of the NBK (14%) and
the margin of a second-tier bank.
Thus, Kazatomprom became the first national company issuing its notes.
