EEC (Kazakhstan) increased electricity production up to 5.7 mln kWh

/IRBIS, Oct.5, 00/ - REUTERS informs, with the reference to the general
director of Evroaziatskaya energeticheskaya korporatsya OJSC (Eurasian
energy corporation), Abduazim Rustambaev, that during January-September
2000 the corporation's production of the electricity increased to 5.738 mln
kWh from 4.677 kWh during similar period of last year.
He explained the increase by the growth of demand from the consumers and
increase in their production volumes.
Major consumers of the electricity produced by the corporation are
Karagandy metallurgical combine Ispat-Karmet, Aksu ferroalloy plant,
Sokolovsko-Sarbaiskoe gorno-proizvodstvennoe obedinenie, is said. Also,
the electricity is transmitted to Shymkent in the south of the country.
The corporation is said to include Ekibastuz coal pit Vostochnyi, with its
production that increased in 9 months up to 10.62 mln tons from 7.66 tons in
similar period of last year.
The corporation is a part of industrial group of the Eurasian bank.
