Anvar Saidenov was assigned as a chairman of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan

/IRBIS, Aug.15,00/ - Khabar agency (Almaty) informed yesterday of an
assignment of Anvar Saidenov as a chairman of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan
OJSC Board.
It was informed previously that due to the assignment of former head of the
bank, Karim Masimov as the minister of transportation and communication of
Kazakhstan the first vice chairman of the Board, Orazaly Erjanov had been
an acting chairman.
By the information of Khabar agency, Anvar Saidenov studied at Moscow
state university and London university followed by a three-year work at
European bank for reconstruction and development. From August 1996
through April 1998 Anvar Saidenov was a deputy chairman of the National
Bank, later worked as a chairman of Investment agency. Simultaneously he
worked as the Kazakhstani manager at European bank. From August of last
year Mr. Saidenov was a vice-minister of finance.
In his telephone interview to Khabar Anvar Saidenov informed of two new
vice chairmen to Halyk Bank - Marat Sartbaev, who worked as a vice-
minister of economy, and Marat Zairov, former first vice chairman of Bank
TuranAlem OJSC.
Saidenov says no principal changes will take place at Halyk Bank of
Kazakhstan soon. Orazaly Erjanov will remain as the first deputy of
Saidenov, both of them worked together at the National Bank.
Khabar notes that the backbone of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan top
management will consist of Saidenov-Erjanov-Sartbaev trio, who know each
other very well from previous jobs at the banks and ministries.
