STATISTICS: Weekly volume of transactions in PIS at KASE - $1,874.3 th

/IRBIS, July 07, 00/ - During the twenty eighth business week of the current
year (July 03 - 09) 10 deals were made for a total of $1,874.3 th. in private
issue securities (PIS) trade sector of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).
Total volume of all deals of this week is almost 4 times less than that of
pervious week ($7,857.6 th.). During the week the number of deals
decreased by 37.5%.
The decline in total trade volume was mostly conditioned by primary
floatation auction of Halyk Bank Kazakhstan OJSC coupon bonds
conducted during the week (90% of the week total volume).
In terms of securities the volume increased 3.3%, up to 113,871 shares and
bonds. Last week it equaled 110,192 of securities.
The deals were made in 6 instruments. The most liquid were:
- common shares of Kazakhtelecom (KZTK, official list of securities,
category "A") - 52.0% of total market turnover;
- coupon bonds of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan OJSC (HSBKb, official list of
securities, category "A",) - 25.9%;
- coupon bonds of Komirbank OJSC (KOMBb, official list of securities,
category "A",) - 15.0%;
Four of 10 deals of the week were direct deals, that is they were made by the
brokers in quotation system of the KASE, that excludes automatic
satisfaction of the bids in counter auction mode. Six deals were made using
counter auction mode (main mode of the KASE).
The proportion of market deals in total turnover of the market equaled 73.7%.
