Kazakhstan should not delay the matter on selling portion of JV Tengizchevroil - source in MEIT

/IRBIS, March 24, 00/ - PRIME-TASS informs, with the source in the Ministry of energy, industry and trade, that Kazakhstan should not delay the matter on selling portion of Kazakhstani-American joint venture Tengizchevroil because shares of JV has the highest value now. It hard to believe that the shares of the joint venture will cost more than they are now. However, the government should trade when offering them to foreign partners, said the source. The agency says it is possible that it would be at least 10% of Kazakhstani part in Tengizchevroil. Former prime-minister Nurlan Balgimbaev, currently the head of "Kazakhoil", is said to be a supporter of this deal. Kazakhstan has 25% of JV Tengizchevroil, the American Chevron owns 45% and Mobil has 25%, Russian LukArco owns 5%.
