Gross external debt of Kazakhstan - $7.56 bln

/IRBIS, March 3, 00/ - REUTERS informs, with the reference to the National
Bank, that gross external debt of Kazakhstan equaled $7.557 bln as of late
September, 1999.
The National Bank publishes quarterly statistics on the payment balance and
external debt with about three month delay.
It is estimated that direct government debt and external debt guaranteed by
the government are $3.772 bln, or 49.9% of all external debt.
External debt, not guaranteed by the government, is expected to be $2.785
bln, which includes liabilities on foreign loans received by the companies.
The debt of the enterprises to non-residents for the services and shipments
of goods, i.e. on direct contracts, is $1 bln.
