Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine intend to create united energy balance

/IRBIS, Feb.22, 00/ - PRIME-TASS informs, with the reference to the
minister of fuel and energy of Russia Viktor Kalyujnyi, that the matters of
creating a united energy balance of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan,
Turkmenistan and Ukraine were the main purpose of his visit to Kazakhstan.
The minister said at his meeting with the president Nursultan Nazarbaev that
creation of a united balance that includes oil, gas, coal and electricity would
solve the problem of energy supplies of five countries.
He said it was possible for other countries to join the project such as China,
Mongolia and probably India. He also said that the proposal had been
supported and the agreement had been made to create a working group that
will assess the principles of creating a united energy balance, and interstate
relationships.
He also said the matters of close economic relationships and the possibility
of supplying Orenburg gas processing plant with the gas from Karachaganak
deposit site had been discussed.
