OPEC to increase petroleum production

/IRBIS, Feb.21, 2000/ - The Financial Times referring to with reference to
"one of the Persian gulf countries official representative" informs that the
leading petroleum exporters agreed to increase its deliveries to the world
market.
As it is stated in the publication, there is anxiety, especially in the USA,
concerning possible negative economic consequences of rise in petroleum
prices. At the London petroleum exchange oil price remains at the level of 26
dollars for barrel.
In March in Vienna the summit of the OPEC ministers will be held, on which,
as it is expected now, the present petroleum production quotas acting till
March 31, will be increased. The business community expects by autumn of
a current year fall in prices of Brent approximately to 20 dollar for barrel.
In March two meetings will be held by OPEC countries: consulting meeting
and ministerial summit of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, United Arab
Emirates, Nigeria, Kuwait, Libya, Indonesia, Algeria, Qatar and Iraq.
