At KASE trades in dollars demonstrated a balanced market

/IRBIS, Feb.17, 00/ - The morning trades in US dollar, Deutsche mark and
Euro were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment
terms. 17 banks participated in the trades.
Today the trades in US dollars opened at 139.80 tenge per unit. Total of 62
deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to 139.80
(-0.03) tenge per unit. Volume of the session - $2.800 mln (-$7.365 mln).
Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.01%. The trades were closed
at 139.80/81 tenge per dollar.
Compared to previous morning session, today the Exchange market was
more balanced. The number of the sellers and the buyers was almost equal,
so was the activity of the traders. Throughout the session the American
currency was traded mainly within 139.80 - 139.81 tenge per unit interval. No
significant dynamics of the dollar exchange rate has been observed. There
were no vivid trends in the change of the exchange rate. The market seemed
to be balanced in all respects.
One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of
Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at 139.79/82 tenge per unit. Two hours later
quotations did not change. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment
terms at 12:30PM the dollar was at 139.80/82.
