STATISTICS: Week volume of foreign currency transactions on KASE - $19,858 million equivalent

/IRBIS, Feb.07, 00/ - U.S. dollar within the sixth week of 2000 (January 30 -
February 06) on the Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) 216 transactions to
the total sum of $19.835 million were made. They included 214 TOD
transactions ($18. 835 million) and 2 SPOT transactions ($1.0 million). An
average volume of the basic (morning) dollar session made $3.767 million.
The tenge devaluation towards dollar calculated at the average weighted
market rate (from the morning sessions), is evaluated for one week by 0.4%
p.a.
The previous week 195 deals to the sum of $10.160 million were made at the
average session volume of $2.032 million. During that period the average
weighted market dollar rate reduced at the average speed of 2.6% p.a. The
transactions were made only on the basic session under the TOD accounts.
The speed of tenge devaluation towards U.S. dollar calculated at the
average weighted market rate on February 04, under the intermediate term
tendency (last 30 days) has constituted 10.0 % p.a.
Deutsche mark: 2 transactions (TOD) to the total sum of 45,000 DEM were
made. The mark fallen by 2.2% that corresponds to average weekly tenge
revaluation of 116.0% p.a.
