/IRBIS, Jan.25, 00/ - PRIME-TASS informs, with the reference to ITAR- TASS, that major oil producers - Venezuela and Mexico - have rejected possible oil production increase as a response to two week long active growth of oil prices in world market. The oil ministers of two countries characterized current hike as "impulsive" and confirmed that they would maintain oil production limits. "OPEC countries decided to work to stabilize the market and today's price growth is temporary", said the minister of energy and mining industry of Venezuela. The current price hike is due to cold weather in the United States and the activities of international players aimed to boost the price, said two ministers. They believe the prices will go down in March already. Oil prices rose at average of 4 dollars last week, at 27 dollars per barrel in London, 29 dollars per barrel in New York. The attitudes of Mexico (not a member of OPEC) and Venezuela (member of OPEC) are important in maintaining the stability in world oil market.
