At KASE USD exchange rate grew some due to activation of buyers of the dollars

/IRBIS, Jan.25, 00/ - The morning trades in US dollar, Deutsche mark and Euro were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 16 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in US dollars opened at 139.50 tenge per unit. Total of 18 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to 139.48 (+0.03) tenge per unit. Volume of the session - $230 th. (+$215 th.). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade - 0.03%. The trades were closed at 139.48/49 tenge per dollar. Compared to yesterday's session the market got active a little mainly due to the buyers of USD. The number of BST, which were buying dollars, was more than two times bigger than the sellers. While two out of three dealers, who were offering dollars for sale, ended the session with zero or close-to- zero net-positions. The Exchange market for the dollar still remains inactive, narrow and volatile. Therefore, growth in weighted average rate of the dollar by the results of the trade should not be considered a trend. It is absolutely confirmed by interbank quotations of USD, which went down immediately after closing of the trades. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at 139.42/46 tenge per unit, two hours later - 139.41/44. In the day session of KASE with TOD payment terms at 1:00PM the dollar was at 139.42/46. Deutsche mark, morning session, TOD: 2 deals, weighted average - 72.20 (-0.45) tenge per unit, volume - DEM15 (+10) th. Closing quotations - 72.10/15 tenge for mark. Euro, morning session, TOD: no deals. Closing demand - 140.12 tenge for euro, no offer.
