USD/KZT at the day closing - 139.44/50 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Jan.20, 00/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of the interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on January 19 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 139.44/50 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge decreased by 8 point against US dollar on demand and by 6 points on supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 139.46 (-0,04) tenge per dollar and closing quotations of 139.48/50. The dollar quotations at closing of the additional day session under the TOD accounts (3:00 p.m. Almaty time) have made 139.44/48 tenge for dollar. Dollar on evening trades by accounts TOM and SPT was not quoted. The interbank dollar quotations remaining stable. Remarkable that they did not changed after 4:00PM Almaty times in the REUTERS quotation system. The market is in expectation, the activity is minimum. By spreads (no more than 7 points in the second half of day), the dealers do not have an uncertainty in the market valuation. Under influence of the National Bank notes redemption the shortest money quotation have decreased by evening to the level of 3/5% p.a. At the same time the National Bank has managed at today's note-21 placement to attract 1.5 billion tenges. Thus, it should be no tenge surplus on the banks' correspondent accounts on Friday. The market can be renewed by the 2,235.1 million tenges redemption of the notes on Friday. However, it can be visible only by the Monday's evening. By the day results, there will be no essential changes of dollar rate on the last week trades. There can be some demand increase as well as increase in volume of the currency transaction on KASE. The dollar rate has an equal chance to increase or to decrease within of about 10 points.
