/IRBIS, Jan.19, 2000/ - According to REUTERS, which cites the press- conference speech of Muhtar Dzhakishev, the president of Kazatomprom, the Kazakhstan national company has received $25 million credit from Deutsche bank Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (WLG). "The credit is received without any of governmental warranties, directly, thought the usual commercial negotiations of the company and Deutsche bank", - Muhtar Dzhakishev has told. According to Dzhakishev, a part the credit will be directed to payment of loans received from local banks, and about $30 million is planned to invest in the Ulba uranium, tantalum and beryl metallurgical plant. It is spoken in the company\s press-release, that there is a basic arrangement with the bank WLG on the further financing of the branch. Kazatomprom is going to repay the credit within the year at the expense of its export. According to Dzhakishev, Kazatomprom has developed the investment program, according to which in 2000 at the expense of the WLG credit and own means $50 million should be invested in the branch development. The investments in Ulba metallurgical plant will make about $33 million, $17 million is planned to invest in the ore base development. Kazatomprom is the national nuclear company of a holding type representing interests of the republic in a nuclear industry. Kazatomprom makes, in particular, the nuclear stations fuel, tantalum, and beryllium. Kazatomprom includes the joint-stock company Volkovgeologia, Ulba metallurgical plant. The company participates in the joint ventures Incai and Katko.
