In January–March 2014 volume of foreign currency traded on KASE increased 2.5 times, making up KZT8.2 trln (USD47.9 bn)

/KASE, April 3, 14/ – In the period from January–March 2014 the volume of
foreign currencies traded on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including
currency swaps transactions, reached KZT8,178.5 bn (equivalent to USD47,864.9 m)
increasing 2.5 times against the same period of last year (2.2 times in dollar
terms).
If compared to the previous three-month period (October–December 2013) the
volume traded increased by 55.1 % (38.6 % in dollar terms).

trading session in the period from January 3, 2014 to March 31, 2014, made up
KZT172.89 per US dollar, on all exchange deals – KZT171.91 per US dollar.
The tenge devalued against the US dollar at the rate of 96.70 % APR in terms of
weighted average market rate. During the first three months of 2014 tenge
devalued 18.17 % to the US dollar in nominal terms
In 2013 the tenge devalued 1.58 % to the US dollar in nominal terms.
In 2012 the tenge revalued 0.61% to the US dollar in nominal terms.
